The Wisdom of Women is essentially an edited collection of women's recollections about the important women in their lives. The stories are lovely, and the writing is okay. The book is a nice, easy read, but far and away the most important thing I took away from this one is time to reflect on the brilliant, intelligent, caring, wonderful women who fill my life with laughter, love, understanding, dancing, conversation and lots of wisdom. For that, Candida Baker, I am very thankful.
Books are one of my passions. It is fortunate that I read quickly because I find it impossible to leave a book store with just one treasure under my arm. I finance my habit by working full time and freelance editing. Reading bedtime stories to my children is one of my absolute favourite things. Another is finding a quiet corner with a cup of tea and new book.
